Meet our Staff
Robert S. Waters, M.D.

Robert S. Waters, MD received his bachelor’s degree in biology cum laude from the University of Illinois. He went on to do graduate research in genetics there and then enrolled in medical studies. He was awarded the Doctor of Medicine degree in 1976. After completing his degree, he served a general and orthopedic surgery internship through the Loyola-Hines Affiliated Hospitals program and began to practice general and industrial medicine. He gradually became interested in the use of nutritional principles as the main focus of his medical practice.
He has studied a diversity of alternative and innovative therapies both in the United States and Europe. These have included orthomolecular medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, neural therapy, prolotherapy, endocrinology and trace element biology. He is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicology.

A note from out doctor...I knew I wanted to be a biologist at the age of five. I saw a robin eat a caterpillar and my dad, Ernest Edward Waters, explained to me that there was a certain balance in Nature.
After early training in biology, biochemistry, and genetics, I went to Medical School anticipating I could use all the principles of science I had learned to improve the health of my patients. However, I learned early on that my profession was focused on a drug therapy paradigm to treat human illness. Within one year of starting practice, I decided to apply the basic sciences of biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology in an attempt to improve the medical complaints of my patients. I was pleasantly surprised to see that humans were designed to be healthy. My genetics research taught me that, if given the proper raw materials, organisms could heal themselves of illness.” ~ Robert S. Waters, M.D. |
